Addiction Is not Chronic Poisoning
Congress 60, in addressing the “The Statement of Addiction,” examines the body and physiology in two categories: the body’s visible reactions or disorders, and the body’s invisible reactions or disorders. These reactions fall into two main categories, and the hidden point where modern withdrawal methods fail lies here. When a person abruptly stops using narcotics, withdrawal symptoms peak within 24 hours. The body stabilizes within about a week, and after two weeks symptoms reduce to a minimum, though not completely.
The visible reactions include sweating, leg shaking, muscle cramps in the legs and neck, bone pain in the wrists and arms, runny nose, repeated sneezing, insomnia, and diarrhea.
But the second part–the hidden phase–is the most sensitive and least recognized stage of addiction. Other methods pay little attention to it, while in reality the main burden of cure lies here. These hidden reactions include depression, isolation, hopelessness, irritability, slow thinking, laziness, lack of desire for life, fatigue, and crying easily.
These issues are not psychological in origin. Their root is the weakening of the body’s analgesic system and reduced production of endogenous opioid-like substances such as endorphins, dynorphins, enkephalins, serotonin, and adrenaline.
Experience has shown that with proper planning, the DST method can repair this system within 10–11 months, restoring physical balance, and when the body is balanced, the psyche follows.
In other methods such as abrupt cessation (‘free-fall withdrawal’) or detoxification, severe damage may occur, sometimes with lifelong consequences. Complications may include premature aging, stroke, and heart attack, conditions that can result in paralysis. Over time the individual becomes physically weaker and more burdened psychologically and emotionally.
In Congress 60, addiction cure is carried out over a 10 to11-month process using Opium Tincture, recognized as the most appropriate medication for the DST method. D refers to Mr. Dezhakam’s discovery: a 20% dosage reduction (ratio 0.8) at each step. S stands for ‘Step’, meaning each reduction occurs every 21 days. T represents the total duration of 10 to 11 months.
As Mr. Dezhakam states, “Knowledge tested through experience becomes a flawless document.” Drug consumers are not snake-bitten victims who require detoxification. Addiction is not chronic poisoning and anyone who defines it that way has not truly distinguished between poison and addiction. Addiction is chronic substitution, because external narcotics have effectively replaced the body’s own opioid-like production systems and its internal pain-control mechanisms.
The definition that labels addiction as chronic poisoning has misled the world, since this definition frames addiction as a poison, implying detoxification is required. If detoxification were truly the goal, we wouldn't need advanced or costly procedures. Half a teaspoon of citric acid dissolved in water, or a small glass of lemon juice or a bowl of Torshi (Persian pickled vegetables), would detoxify the person within a short period of time. There would be no need for anesthesia, brain surgery, or blood replacement.
In Congress 60, Mr. Dezhakam presents fourteen fundamental principles regarding the problem of addiction and the appropriate pathways to cure addiction. Principles that will be further expanded and refined in the future with the contribution of esteemed scientists.
Principle One: Narcotics
Principle Two: Who Is the Drug Consumer?
Principle Three: Substitution
Principle Four: The Psyche
Principle Five: Time
Principle Six: The Best Medication
Principle Seven: Physical Reactions
Principle Eight: Detoxification
Principle Nine: Psychiatric or Chemical Psychotropic Medications
Principle Ten: Classification of drug Consumers
Principle Eleven: General Methods of Withdrawal and Addiction treatment
Principle Twelve: Balance
Principle Thirteen: Awareness
Principle Fourteen: Expertise
