Dear Bill,
I hope you are feeling very well and that the effects of chemotherapy and radiation are gradually fading. I am very happy that you have made it through treatment with such patience and perseverance and that you are feeling better each day. I hope you will soon regain your previous health so that we can continue our joint research.
I am doing well too and keeping busy with my work. It is now the season when the grapes and apples are ripening. Soon, we will need to harvest them and place them in 220-liter barrels to prepare D.Sap.
We had planned to hold the assistant guide examinations, but for various reasons, we postponed them.
We are still waiting for our accepted articles to be published. None of our articles appeared in August because of the summer holidays at universities in the United States and Europe. We are currently awaiting the publication of four papers, all related to addiction. As I mentioned before, one concerns fentanyl, another amphetamine, and another opium. These studies involved genetic testing in animal models, and I found the results very exciting. The fourth paper compares different approaches to addiction recovery, including NA, other approaches, and medication-based treatment, with the DST method.
Of course, as you know, the papers we submit must undergo additional verification because of the country from which they are submitted, which has made our work somewhat more difficult. Fortunately, as our work has become better known in the scientific community, and because of the originality of our submissions, this process has become considerably easier.
A few days ago, our paper on multiple sclerosis was republished in Harvard University’s library, which made us very happy. Although this study involved an animal model, our research using OT medication and the DST method showed that even damage to the myelin sheath surrounding nerve fibers, as occurs in MS, could be repaired to a considerable extent.
Dear Bill, what I want to say is that, through our collaboration and your support internationally, we have been able to demonstrate the restoration of different parts of the body. This finding and the understanding it brings could play an important role in the field of addiction. Imagine if we could understand precisely how amphetamine, fentanyl, opium, and heroin affect the human body at a detailed level, how these harmful effects can be repaired, and gradually communicate this knowledge to the scientific community. Then a broad road—or even a highway—would open toward the treatment of addiction.
In closing, I pray that you and I will both be here to witness that day, when we can bring the treatment of addiction and various other illnesses out of the realm of the unknown and into the realm of understanding.
