The fourth session of the first term of the public educational workshops of Congress 60, held in Pasargad Branch in Shiraz, commenced on Thursday, September 6, 2025, at 4:00 PM. The session was led by the Worldview Dideban of Congress 60, Dr. Amin Dezhakam, with Traveler Sohrab serving as guardian and Traveler Mohammad as secretary. The agenda of the session was: “Celebration of Agent and Marzbans’ (Border Guards) Week”.
Hello friends, I’m Amin, a traveller. I would like to express my appreciation for the hard work and excellent taste exercised in the repairs and construction of the Pasargad Branch. I am also very pleased with the choice of the name “Pasargad” for this branch, and I sincerely hope that many people will be liberated from addiction and find peace in this place, and that much productive work will be done here.
The success of Congress 60 has been built on the continuous reinforcement of two pillars over 27 years. The first is the proper use of experiences, the revision of laws, training, and the DST method, along with all matters related to treatment. Second, establishing order and managing the branches throughout the country by the Marzbans (Border Guards) and Agents.
If we look back at the history of the establishment of Congress 60 by Mr. Dezhakam, we find that in the early days, due to a lack of experience, regulations, and training—as well as the fact that the DST method had not yet been widely accepted and lacked a clear, complete record—many travelers formed their own groups and factions, pursuing unscientific methods of recovery. During that time, only a few individuals were actively using the DST method.
Mr. Dezhakam did not confront or eliminate these individuals, some of whom had also gained a certain degree of power. Instead, he created his own group and organization, which led to the formation of the Legions. In this way, the Legions were established within Congress 60 [a legion consists of a group of individuals gathering together under the guidance of a Congress 60’s guide discussing Mr. Dezhakam’s audio-files and expressing their own experience in that regard].
In relation to improving the treatment method, we realized that we had to apply the DOD triangle: the right method [DST method], the right medication (Opium), and the right Dose; and the person [addict] must use their medication [Opium Tincture] in appropriate dose [the amount prescribed by their guide] and at appropriate time.
In the early years of Congress 60, from among those who had stopped using drugs cold turkey; we selected guides. However, after some time, candidates took the guidance exam, and gradually, greater care was taken in selecting guides
The points I mentioned were related to the first pillar needed to reinforce a branch, including treatment method, education, and the scientific dimension of Congress 60, but what about the administration and control of the branches?
These places need to be safe and suitable, with a welcoming and pleasant atmosphere that allows people to grow and evolve. To properly implement the principles and rules and to create an appropriate environment, we chose a Marzban (border-guard); however, over time, we realized that this was not enough, and someone more senior and experienced (agent) was also needed [to supervise a Marzbani Legion]. For this reason, we appointed an Agent to create the necessary coordination among all members. Of course, the Agent has no executive responsibility; this role is to set overall policies and guidelines.
If marzbans and Agents do their duties well, they will evolve the branch. Although Marzbans are in charge of implementing the rules and regulations of Congress 60, they are expected to treat Congress 60 members gently and respectfully in order not to disturb their dignity. To be tough is one thing, but being disrespectful is another.
