حسین عزیز،
از بابت پیام شما متشکرم و عذر می‌خواهم که پاسخم فعلاً کوتاه است. عمل قلبی که هفته گذشته انجام دادم به خوبی پیش رفت و فردا آزمایش‌های پیگیری دارم تا مشخص شود که آیا درمان بیشتری لازم است یا خیر. عمل سه‌ساعته را به خوبی پشت سر گذاشتم و حالم نسبتاً خوب است و امیدوارم که در روزهای آینده انرژی‌ام کاملاً بازگردد. فعالیت‌های پربار شما—چه در زمینه ارائه‌ها و مقالات و چه در کار روی مزرعه—برایم الهام‌بخش است.
امیدوارم هفته آینده بتوانم به کار روی بازبینی مقاله‌مان بازگردم. مهلت ارسال مجدد تا پایان این ماه است، بنابراین رسیدن به آن مهلت نباید مشکلی ایجاد کند. دکتر ساراپاس رهبری بازبینی مقاله را بر عهده دارد که از او بسیار سپاسگزارم. تأخیرهایی که از پذیرش تا انتشار نهایی به آن اشاره کردین، برای ما هم در مورد مقالات مختلف رخ داده است. برخی از این تأخیرها اخیراً به چندین ماه کشیده‌اند تا انتشار نهایی انجام شود.
لطفاً من را در جریان توزیع کتاب کاهش وزنتان قرار بدهید. آن کتاب برای بسیاری از مردم، به‌ویژه کسانی که در دوره بهبودی هستند و می‌خواهند وضعیت سلامتشان را بهبود ببخشند، مفید خواهد بود.

Dear Hossein
Thank you for your latest communication, and pardon the brevity of my current response. The heart procedure I had last week went well and I will have follow-up tests tomorrow to determine if any further treatment is needed. I weathered the three-hour surgery well and am feeling pretty good with hopes of my energy fully returning in the days ahead. I continue to be inspired by your flurry of activity—both with your presentations and papers and your work on the farm.
I hope to return to work on revision of our paper next week. The deadline for resubmission is the end of this month so meeting that deadline should not be a problem. Dr. Sarapas is leading the resubmission, which I am quite appreciative of. The delays from acceptance to publication you note are also what we are experiencing with various papers. Some of those delays have recently extended into many months before final publication.
Do keep me posted on the distribution of your weight loss book. That will be a benefit to many people and especially to people in recovery wanted to enhance their health status.
I will try to write more soon.
