با تشکر از نامه شما و آرزوی بهبودی سریع از عفونت اخیر کووید. من در روزهای اخیر به حالت عادی برگشته‌ام.
من خوشحال خواهم شد پیش‌نویس اولیه از یک کتابشناسی حرفه‌ای (بیبلیوگراف) از مطالعات مربوط به کنگره 60 و فلسفه و روش‌های درمانی آن تهیه کنم. من این کار را با لیست کردن مواردی که از آن‌ها آگاه هستم و مواردی که می‌توانم از طریق موتورهای جستجوی مختلف تحقیقات پیدا کنم، انجام می‌دهم.

Dear Hossein,
Thank you for your last letter and your well wishes for a fast recovery from the recent Covid infection. I am feeling back to normal in recent days.
I will be happy to create a first draft of a professional bibliography of studies related to Congress 60 and its philosophy and methods of treatment. I will do this by listing those I am aware of and those I can locate through various literature search engines. I started this process yesterday and it is going well. I am sure there are some publications I will miss that you can identify for me once you review the draft. I think that when completed and posted the bibliography will enhance the professional esteem in which Congress 60 is held. It will also communicate to research scientists around the world Congress 60’s openness to collaboration on future research studies. The search process will take some time, but I hope to have a draft for your review within 4-6 weeks from now.
NIDA recently released its plan for the next five years and describes it as follows.
NIDA’s new plan reflects our commitment to advancing all aspects of addiction science in the service of improving public health. It corrals the breadth of research we support—from basic neuroscience and pharmacology to epidemiology and prevention to therapeutics development and implementation, to research on the delivery of addiction treatment and other services—while remaining flexible and responsive to scientific innovations as well as to the rapidly shifting drug use and addiction landscape. Our plan for the next five years also prioritizes research that is informed by people with lived experience of addiction in themselves or their families, to best meet the needs of those most directly impacted by our science.
NIDA’s 2022-2026 Strategic Plan has five priority scientific areas:
Understand Drugs, the Brain, and Behavior
Develop and Test Novel Prevention, Treatment, Harm Reduction, and Recovery Support Strategies
Accelerate Research on the Intersection of Substance Use, HIV, and Related Comorbidities
Improve the Implementation of Evidence-Based Strategies in Real-World Settings
Translate Research into Innovative Health Applications

NIDA’s recent research focus has been dominated by its effort to explore addiction as a brain disease and find pharmacological or other neurobiological mechanisms of more effectively treating addiction. Much of this has focused on understanding the genetic and neuropathology nature of addiction, but it’s focus has recently expanded to a more focused study of the processes of addiction recovery. I hope to share more about their plans with you after speaking this next few weeks with several scientists with studies funding by NIDA.
I enjoyed the story you shared about the man digging a well in hopes of finding water. Yes, there are many people digging into addiction not to find its cure but to hoard the money that can be made from the search process. Such people see people addicted to drugs as a crop that can be harvested for financial profit. And in the name of helping, they are doing great harm be standing as an obstacle to true progress in addiction recovery.
