Cure for Addiction to Cigarettes
Nourishing the city of existence [body] with [righteous] thought and awareness
Using tobacco—including cigarettes—greatly reduces the body’s oxygen supply, creating limitations in our physical health. It causes the walls of the lungs to shrink and decreases the capacity for breathing in and out. In the cells, mitochondria rely on oxygen in the tissues—especially the facial tissues—to break down glucose and produce energy. A reduction of oxygen in hemoglobin and increased blood viscosity prevent blood from circulating properly in the capillaries, leading to serious damage—such as narrowing of the cervical spinal canal, hypoxia in the brain, vision disturbances and blurred eyesight, joint pain in the back and knees and arthritis, nail discoloration and darkening of the lips, constant fatigue and weakness of the body, the breakdown of facial skin collagen, and tissue collapse. All these damages occur solely due to the lack of blood flow in the capillaries.
The role of oxygen in human life is one of the most important and key factors. The human body can store many things—but can it also store oxygen? Certainly not. It should be noted that 65% of human body weight is composed of oxygen (because the mass or density of each water molecule is eight times that of hydrogen). However, this oxygen is constantly circulating and must be carried by hemoglobin to the cells and mitochondria—it cannot be stored. Therefore, it is essential that with [righteous] thought and awareness, we nourish our inner city [our body] with this divine gift, and by curing cigarette addiction, we close the case of addiction once and forever.
