The eighth session of the fourteenth round of the physicians’ legion was held by Master Dezhakam as the master of the ceremony and guest speaker on April 20, 2018 in Taleqani Park. The agenda was “The Worldview 1 & 2”.
Master Dezhakam’s Words:
Congress60 observes and analyzes happenings and is not influenced by the ancients. If it is necessary, it will review their words to see if they are true or not. If they are right, it will accept them, if not it won’t.
Two groups have tried to cure addiction: one group in the medical system believing addiction should be treated using medication while the other group persisted in solving the problem of addiction by spirituality. In fact they didn’t accept the medical system. These two groups were always struggling with each other.
But we believe that both medicine and spirituality are essential and correlated elements. They are like the two sides of a coin and never contradict each other. Those who intended to cure addiction by spirituality are known as the most important group in the world, Anonymous Addicts. They believe they help addicts quit addiction. They hardly believe in treatment and know the process is imperfect as they say: addiction is a mysterious, incurable and progressive.
An addict is an addict even if they have quitted using drugs for 20 years. When it is said addiction is mysterious, it means the process is imperfect. On the other hand, when the addict complains of diarrhea, anti-diarrhea medicines are prescribed for him, or when they suffer from insomnia, sleep pills are prescribed and so on.
Congress60 practically found out another element besides body and psyche, i.e. addicts’ thoughts, play a great role in addiction treatment. There is a belief saying: the universe lasts too short and as I am supposed to die, and insects are going to eat my body in the grave, I destroy it in advance. This is a nihilistic view. Having such a nihilistic view, people tend to use drugs even if they are not addicts. There are more than 150 kinds of illnesses called psychosomatic caused by mental problems which are derived from thoughts and way of thinking.
Congress60 has tried to define psyche as mood. Some people are angry, some are calm, moody, care free, crazy, forgetful and criminal. Thus all these features are included in their psyche i.e. mood. Congress60 believes that mood is derived from both thoughts and ideas, and physiology.
Suppose that an ordinary man drinks alcohol, is drunk and consequently loses his balance completely. He does whatever he doesn’t do when he is sober. What influenced him? What made these disorders? It is nothing but alcohol. Which parts did alcohol influence? It passed the blood-brain barrier and interfered there. It changed the individual’s character.
Thus Congress60 came to this conclusion that two elements are needed by which it can cure addiction: worldview and physiology. For the same reason, in Congress60, addiction treatment is done by medication and working on worldview. The worldview instructions which are strong and firm have been included in two pamphlets. There are various subjects including cognizance, character’s triangle and so on. All in all, Congress60 believes that besides psyche and body, there is another element called worldview i.e. people’s thoughts and ideas which can be much effective not only in addiction treatment but in all aspects of life.
