Are you a reasonable person? Are you a former addict? Do you suffer the symptoms of withdrawal because they believe addiction is like a bad habit and it must be stopped?!
My dear, I am a former addict and I have been treated in Congress 60 and nowadays I am living a normal life. Before that I was a member of another NGO and they told me that you must change your views and we will help.
What I recall of those days is the void of those days. Each day was a struggle not to use and they told me it will be ok gradually just be patient. Don’t be weak believe in God and embrace him and he will help. And I waited and I fought for 3 years but yet each day was struggle with just a little progress. Pain, sleepiness, depression was abundant but I had hope. When I entered Congress 60 here they told me that addiction must be treated and 11 months is the period of treatment. I couldn’t believe at the beginning one day I will wake up and I won’t feel the damn depression which I had. It was unbelievable but as treatment continued for 2 months everything was changing! They told me one should not pass his duties to God and you must take control of your life and I was educated and educated!
It was like a university which teaches the method of how to lead a happy life and they cure addiction at the same time! I couldn’t believe because when I was struggling with addiction I traveled to a developed country to get help because I believed if there is a proper treatment for addiction it can’t be in Iran!
What a false believe! And now all I am saying is that you don’t need to endure the symptoms of withdrawal! That’s it! It is all I’m saying because I went through it, I went through hell and gained nothing! When there is a proper treatment for an illness what different does it makes if it has been found in a third world country?!
Addiction is something that we all have felt, you and me. We know that enduring and everyday struggle is how hard! It is not about the power of will, it is an illness which needs treatment. A treatment with results!
My addicted brothers and sisters! I know that society looks to us a way that they should not! We are not weak! We are not different from others! We just experienced something that is like a swamp! It sucks you in and it drags you to hell! A hell which is created because of an impairment not because of lacking the will power! Or being irresponsible!
When you enter a treatment program ask them to show you the results of their treatment! See what the outcome is! See for yourself!
I will not rest until this method of treatment (DST) is presented to the world because I don’t care if nobody outside of Iran borders believes this cure or not. I just care for those addicts who want really want to find a way out and they can’t. Not because they are weak but because the current methods of treatment are useless!
