Smoking cessation study approved

Smoking cessation study approved

Dear Hossein Dezhakam,

One of the greatest tragedies in the world history of addiction involves the multitudes of people who, having overcome addiction to other drug dependencies, die prematurely of addiction to nicotine.  What was needed to call a halt to this tragedy were pioneers in recovery who possessed the courage to confront this addiction in their own lives and then carry the value of this message to others.  Two years ago, you became one of those groundbreaking pioneers.   The decision you made to stop smoking was a personal one, but it also stands as a critical milestone in the life of Congress 60 and the worldwide movement for addiction recovery.  As the method for smoking cessation now used within Congress 60 spreads, men and women from around the world will come to embrace smoking cessation within a new and expanded definition of addiction recovery.   I am pleased to join you in spirit today to celebrate this important milestone.   You have touched us all with your courage, your love and your example.   What you have given with this decision you made two years ago is quite literally the gift of life.  And for that we offer your thanks that cannot be expressed in words.  We remain…

Friends and brothers forever,

Bill

After Mr. Dezhakam decision to stop smoking with the D.S.T method a pilot formed on this method. This study is ongoing under Chestnut health care system approval of ethics. The D.S.T method is based on taper off and for smoking the nicotine gum is used instead of smoking for a period of 10 months. The amount of gum to be used is calculated properly for each smoker and then the gradual tapering with the Dezhakam coefficient (0.8) starts. Many of Congress 60 members has done this and the relapse scale is minimum.

What follows is the Chestnut health care system approval on this study.
