The educational system of Congress 60

The educational system of Congress 60

The educational system of Congress 60

Congress 60 in a nongovernmental organization. This organization is based on the widely accepted principle of helping a current addict by a rehabilitated one.  The major activities of Congress 60 are in the course of addiction prevention, harm reduction and treatment.

Nowadays, two major groups are recognized working in the field of addiction treatment.

a)      Medical doctors with the specialty of addiction treatment.

b)      Once addict individuals that have been cured. We call them masters or guides.

In most countries, the second group activity in the field of addiction treatment is permitted just due to their experience of addiction and rehabilitation. While at Congress 60, this is just one of the several conditions that a rehabilitated addict should meet to be able to become a guide. Activity permission would be granted to those recovered addicts who have been clean at least for 6 months and thoroughly trained and attended special courses. These courses consist of 240 workshops (more than 500 hours). At the end of the course, individuals should take and pass three examinations: treatment course (or first journey) test, the technical test of addiction and human physiology and the test of universal perception (or ideology). The ones who pass the courses successfully should be validated morally by higher authorities as the last condition. Then they are permitted to become guides and aid the others in addiction treatment.

All the executive and educational forces of Congress 60 were once drug addicts and gained the true understanding of addiction and addiction science. It should be noted that the addiction itself has become a distinctive science. These persons have tried several ways to conquer their addiction and finally succeeded to find a way to cure it. We believe that our own view on addiction is different from the others and is more accurate and realistic. Because we have experienced addiction closely and gained its knowledge thoroughly.

We believe that addiction has no healer. It is very strong and destroys the whole human existence city (body, mind and universal perception) and puts it out of balance. Addiction is a super-disease and the only one who is able to reconstruct all this huge destruction is the addict itself. Of course, the internal will of the addict to recover is a necessity.

A spiritual and internal journey is needed in order to overcome addiction and change the way the patients think, see and percept the world. Changing the universal perception is also necessary to put the mind and body constructs into balance. This journey should be done by the patient itself and no one can take this journey instead of the patient. No one can claim that he or she can cure addiction, the only one that may assert so is the patient himself.

As a result in Congress 60, there are no healers, we just have guides. A guide is the one who passed through a way successfully and now shows the others that way to pass. Nevertheless, that is the patient himself who should step in the way and walk through it.

In Congress 60, we believe that the only one responsible to treat addiction is the patient and no one else.

Addicts Classification

Congress 60 divides addicts into three sub groups.

a)Addiction candidates

b)Addicts who like addiction

c)Addicts who want to be cured

Addiction candidates

These are the ones who use drugs recreationally and think that would never become dependent on them. This group consists of future addicts and surely will become addicted one day. For this group, prevention is the applicable method.

Addicts who like addiction

This group is made of persons who are at the beginning of the addiction path. They have not yet realized the addiction destructions. They suppose that they have found a magical substance and anybody that do not use drugs may not realize the joy of life. They are pleased by using drugs and do not intent to treat it yet. As long as they have no intention to cure addiction, no one can help them, not their families or anybody else. For this group, harm reduction is the applicable method. The only thing that we can do about this group is to teach them how to use drug less harmfully.

Addicts who want to be cured

These are addicts who have realized the addiction destruction and intent to break free from its trap. Nevertheless, the more they try the less they succeed. This group may try different ways of rehabilitation and treatment. But they may not succeed and may relapse to drug use, because most of these ways are ineffective and wrong. So they would be dubbed with different labels: weak-minded, feeble and so. Whilst this people are nor weak-minded neither feeble, rather they chose the wrong path and never reached the destination. No one can reach the destination, ignorant of the right way toward it, even having willpower as large as a mountain. Addiction treatment does not need such willpower. Every addict who wants to be cured has got the needed willpower. But they lack the awareness and the knowledge of addiction and its treatment. This knowledge and awareness should be used beside the willpower to bring the person to the target.

For this group, treatment is the applicable method.

This group is the main target of Congress 60. They would accept the right method and the right path, once they become aware of it. They begin to move and they will succeed.
