No need to rush

No need to rush

In early stages of drug addiction treatment one might feel overwhelmed, and to think that they have to conquer the world with enormous personal growth and thrilling changes, all at once. Take things slowly. I understand that recovery and above all, achieving equilibrium is a long, long process that stretches out for decades in front of me. Now I know that achieving equilibrium is a process which will take the rest of my life, and I should not rush it.

Am I serious-minded today? Can I manage and control my life and routines? I am going with that for now. More will come to me in time. Personal growth will happen if I keep the right attitude. There is no need to think that I have to climb every mountain tomorrow. You don’t need 10 goals. Just nail that first part (don’t use no matter what) and then try to add in a growth experience.

What is the thing you want to change most in your life today? Focus on that. Don’t allow a bunch of other goals and aims run you in circles. The point is to focus on one thing at a time, and make steady progress. Prioritize your goals. Start exercising, communicate with others in society, and expand spiritually. Pick an objective that sparks your interest and just go after it. Achieve something, and then move on. It may take years to achieve a goal, yet finally one can actually conquer it. Now, after this victory there is time to move on to another goal. Life gets better and better over time. Progress is enduring hardship, mastering one goal, and then moving on and tackling a new one.

And prioritize. What would have the biggest impact in your life right now? Which one is most important? Do that. Chase that goal. Deliberate growth is to prioritize your aims, execute, master it, and then move on. Just take your time, and know that you will get there.

All in all, know that a balanced lifestyle is a huge key to happiness in overcoming addiction. Having a balanced life gives you the ability to respond from a place of strength.
