The Base of Congess60, Mr. Hossein Dezhakam

You always surprise me, although I did ask you not to celebrate my birthday. My wish is that we can establish an Academy for addiction with God’s favour and mercies.

Hello friends, I am Hossein, a traveler. I am fine and hope you are keeping well. The week called “The Base of Congess60” was not intended for us to celebrate my birthday. Although they are the same but I do not celebrate it. This week is for speaking about how Congress60 was shaped. The old members must speak and say what happened and how Congress60 was established. There were lots of problems and joys. It is because the current members do not assume that the government has paid us any money  to establish Congress60. Some of the old members of Congress60 have died and the old ones must utter their experiences to the next generations.

We have gathered lots of money (10000000 dollars) on the money-donation ceremony, however you know even the mass media (television) are not able to collect that much money for the charities. We started our work in 1998 and see our progress through time, see the knowledge and the achievements. Yesterday, I watched a film about addiction in Canada, they are 50 years behind us, they do not know addiction at all. They suffered a lot so that they could build “injection houses”, now see we have treated addiction 20 years ago and we have done the same with OT (Opium Tincture)  for ten years. We cure addiction with opium, a substance which is burned in other countries. We say the jackal of a local place must be taken by the dog of that place.

As a sword can cut a sword, and  addictive drugs can be treated by themselves. Whatever was created to treat addiction was made up of drugs. Heroin was a drug for curing addiction. Methadone and thebaine were derived from opium and all of them are addictive. For ten years, we have been treating addiction with Opium Tincture (OT) and you can well see it has prevented many problems. No one till now has overdosed on OT. We have been treating addiction for 20  years using opium and OT and no one has overdosed on them in Congress60. However, in Canada, the ambulances are roaming around the city to transfer the people with overdose to the hospitals. Phentermine is another drug which is 100 times more powerful than morphine and they use it to anesthetize the animals, only a small amount of it is enough to anesthetise patients. More amount of it will kill the patients. No one overdoses on OT but about 15 people daily overdose on methadone. Everything detrimental to body is bitter but I know why methadone is made sweet. What a disaster it is to make methadone sweet. Opium and alcohol are both bitter but the addicts use them because their body needs them. Therefore, if methadone is bitter, the addicts will use it and if   child mistakenly uses it, they will vomit it. If you want to prevent methadone misuse, you have to make it bitter.

I want to say that for twenty years we have been treating addiction using opium and Opium Tincture. Many resistances took place so that we could get successful. In this week, you are required to talk about Hossein Karimi and Mr. Lashkari and many other people who strived in this path so that we could reach this position. They had used cold turkey but they endeavored to promote Congress60. We had only one traveler who was on the DST method who was called Mehdi Gradual (i.e. he is traveling gradually on the DST method), other members of Congress60 in that time told him “it is not required to gradually reduce your drugs, just go on a cold turkey and stop smoking drugs”. Once I was arrested because of doing my work here in Congress60. All these endeavors and efforts resulted in our current status and success. We even had not money to buy Iftar in Ramadan. Everywhere was dark in that time, but God helped us and the members tried hard and resisted against the problems.

You have to talk about all of these issues, the problems and the endeavors.. Tell your memories to others, remember and speak about anyone who helped us reach this position including Mohammad Yaboo, Sattar and Hossein Karimi. Tell about the problems you and your family members suffered in the previous years.
