Worldview- differences between a traveler’s point of view and an addict’s point of view
The triangle treatment of congress60 has three components which are: body, psych, and worldview.
The most important damage caused by prolonged use of drugs is malfunction of two vital systems, the analgesic and Opioid production systems inside the human body.
According to the research done on hundreds of members of congress60 in a 12 year period, we have concluded that a period of eleven months is needed for the restoration of these systems; anything less than this would not be sufficient.
Most experts in the field of addiction believe that drug addiction is an illness of mind and spirit. They say that most problems are in the mental aspect of a patient and physical issues are dealt with much easier; they are simply stating that an addict is a psychological patient.
Congress60 however, believes that drug addiction is not necessarily a mental disability; this is because a prolong use of drugs, alcohol or narcotics has damaged vital systems within the body and since the mind and body are interconnected, the psyche is also affected.
The roots are physical and once repaired and restored, the mind will also become balanced.
The third important component in a successful addiction treatment is worldview. It is the manner in which an individual views and perceives himself, others and the world around him.
An addict however, has drug influenced mentality and this affects his worldview; we call it a drug induced outlook on life. The individual looks at everything from an intoxicated angle.
Balancing this drug induced outlook is an important part of our treatment; because if this mentality does not change, it makes no difference whether the individual uses drugs or not. A successful treatment is yet to take place in this person.
This is the reason why many addicts relapse in other treatment methods after many years of not using drugs. This has led to a notion that drug addicts need long term care and control whereas in fact, it is not the case at all.
Some words makes us feel bad, words like junky and addict; in congress60 the one who has started his treatment is called a traveler and this is amazing because the negative felling will be removed but there are differences between a junky and a traveler; let us review some of them.
Addict:
The reason that I am a street junky now is others like society, family, friends and etc.
Traveler:
The reason of my addiction is my own ignorance; nobody else is responsible. I made wrong choices and now I must move toward certain cure.
Addict:
There is no cure for addiction; I will be addicted to the end of my life.
Traveler:
Addiction has certain cure. Human being past attributes don’t remain the same because he is constantly changing.
Addict:
I feel bad, I have temptation to use. What should I do? When I see someone using narcotics I feel like using myself.
Traveler:
I feel good; I have no temptation to use. My worldview has changed; my perception of myself has changed. I have reached certain cure of addiction and the chemical status of my body is rebalanced and I will never use narcotics again.
Addict:
I’ve been sober for a long time but I still feel bad, can’t sleep well, I feel tired, I feel anger and I become angry easily.
Traveler:
I am ok, even my face has changed and nobody believes that I was an addict once. I sleep well and I wake up easily, I don’t become angry easily and I exercise 3 days a week, sports like: rugby, swimming, archery, wrestling and other sports which are provided for travelers of congress60.
Addict:
Nobody understands me, people are spoiled.
Traveler:
No they are not; you feel such a thing because you have problems. When there is a jam within you (city of existence) obviously you think everything is spoiled. The world is like a mirror that reflects us.
Addict:
Nobody respects me, nobody is helping me, I can’t live any more, and I am tired.
Traveler:
You can live; the world will become like heaven if you walk the righteous path. You did this to yourself don’t expect others to fix it for you, you must decide yourself and start moving; the path will be revealed with progress.
Addict:
Nobody loves me.
Traveler:
You must learn to love yourself then everybody will love you. You must learn to change your view. You must learn to love everyone because your thoughts will be reflected to yourself and gradually you will become what you think of yourself.
