From pure darkness to the sanctity which must be highly protected

An interview with Miss. Shani Dezhakam, regarding the eye-catching cover design of the book "Edmond and Helga".

On August 13th, Mr. Dezhakam's newest book, Edmond and Helga, will be unveiled in Taleqani Park. Since Miss Shani, a theatre graduate, had designed its interesting cover, we have conducted an interview with her.

Interviewer: first of all many thanks for your time. The book "Edmond and Helga" is allowed to be published, can you tell us about your feelings?

Miss Shani: I am very pleased. I did not think that this good event happened in a very short time, although I was sure that it would be published in future. I am very happy, because it was the time for this book to be published.

Interviewer: You have designed the cover of book, how do you feel?

Miss Shani: when I read the book for the first time, I was intensively excited. I think everyone who reads this book, will cry. I felt a very special feeling because when I finished reading, I thought that the book has taken me to a very far place. I did not design the cover; as I finished its reading, the image was there! I just painted that image. I think all the artists are the same in this regard, although I do not consider myself as an artist. I think an artist does the same, the picture exists somewhere and the artist just paints it (on a piece of paper).

Interviewer: How did you do that? Did Mr. Dezhakam propose this idea?

Miss Shani: The tradition of paintings in the books is a very interesting one. I have never ever seen it anywhere else. This tradition started from the book: "Crossing the Zone of 60 Degrees below Zero". For each rule (Wadi), there was a painting. Mrs. Ani proposed the ideas and Ms. Shalke drew them. When this book was prepared, Mr. Dezhakam asked me to draw a picture whenever I found an image for that (in my mind). I welcomed his idea eagerly.

Interviewer: Are you interested in this art? I mean designing pictures on the cover?

Miss Shani: I love art and painting and I was interested in them when I was a high school student. Instead of listening to my teachers, I was painting in classes.

Interviewer: Is it possible to talk about the elements and the colouring?

Miss Shani: On the basis of the book content, the two trees symbolize the evil and good trees. They are intertwined to each other because based on the book, human beings own the power of decision-making in both good and devil paths. Whether we want or not, they are with us in every moment of life. This tree is a symbol of what really exists. If you take a deep look at the picture, you can see an absolute dark. If the reader reads the book, s/he can make a strong connection with it (register with it). Edmond and Helga  are lying on one side of the river. It was mentioned (in Holy Quran) that the sanctity was considered by the Lord, and it must be completely observed (by human beings). The angel who is seen on the right side of the picture is Michael, an archangel who guides Edmond and Helga.

Interviewer: How far is Lucifer from us?

Miss Shani: There is no distance between Lucifer and us!

Interviewer: Do you want  to continue your work in designing book covers?

Miss Shani: I love pictures; therefore, if I see a thing and I understand it, I will create it because I think hundreds of words are not able to express a picture.

Interviewer: Who is your favourite character in the book?

Miss Shani: Lucifer, because we do not see him but he is present everywhere. And, the last section of the book is my favourite.

Interviewer: Is there any pre-requisite to read the book, including the World-view or other Congress60's materials?

Miss Shani: It needs Nothing, except a passion for reading.

Interviewer: And your last words?

Miss Shani: I hope everyone enjoys reading this book. When we read a text, it is better to leave our prejudices so that we can enjoy more and more. We have to avoid judging and try to enjoy surfing the book!

Interviewer: Many thanks for your time and for designing  and publishing the book "Edmond and Helga"

Interviewer: Companion Hamed Khazaeepour
