It is good to hear from you as Ramadan festivities draw to a close. The photos of the award ceremony were quite inspiring to see. What a wonderful recognition of what Congress 60 has meant to the Islamic Republic of Iran and so many of its citizens. It was a true honor to be so recognized and was most deserved.
Book publishing is in a considerable state of transition in the U.S., as more and more things are printing digitally rather than in hard copy. Is that also the case in Iran? Rita has done some online publishing but I have not. I will have to do some research about options for the Love book and then let you know what I find. I have been working on a professional memoir for many years and I think I am going to prepare this as a PDF and post it on my site for free download. I think that is how it could best reach the most people. If that is something that would be of interest, we could post the English translation of the Love book on my site and on the Congress 60 website. Let me know your thoughts about that possibility while I explore other options as well.
I enjoyed reading the UNODC account of the Congress 60 Rugby Team. Such reports are a wonderful way to change public attitudes about addiction and the potential for full recovery.
It is my great honor to have become so involved with you in the activities of Congress 60. I have mementos of our work together resting above my writing desk as I type these words. They remind me of all that you have achieved and our vision of the work yet to be done.
July will include many family activities for Rita and I. We will be visiting with her family over the holiday weekend and will travel to Illinois later this month to see my mother, sisters, and other family members. It will be a good time for rest and regeneration.
